How we verify your benefits
Dental benefits vary a great deal from plan to plan, even within the same insurer, so we check rather than guess. Here is how it works:
- Bring your insurance card to your first visit, or share the details when you book, so we can look up your plan in advance.
- Our office checks your coverage with your insurer and confirms what your plan covers.
- After your exam, your dentist explains what treatment is recommended, and the office gives you an estimate that shows the expected insurance portion and the portion you would pay.
- Benefits and coverage are verified with the office before treatment begins, so there are no surprises later.
An estimate is exactly that: the insurer makes the final decision when it processes a claim, and the amount can differ from the estimate. We tell you when that happens and explain why.
If we don't take your plan or you have no insurance
Not being on our list does not mean you cannot be seen here. Call the office and tell us which plan you have, and we will tell you what we are able to do.

Do you offer a new patient special?
Yes. Our New Patient Special includes an exam, a consultation and 3 X-rays. Eligibility and terms are confirmed by the office when you book, so mention it when you call (516) 855-6855 or request an appointment online.
What happens if you are out of network for my plan?
Call us before your visit. Some plans reimburse part of the cost of out-of-network care, and your insurer can tell you whether yours does and how much. Our office can tell you what the practice is able to do for your situation, and you will see an estimate before any treatment begins.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Your insurance card and a list of any medications you take. If you have had dental X-rays taken recently at another office, ask them to send the images to us so they do not need to be repeated. Arriving a few minutes early gives you time to complete any forms without rushing.
Do you accept insurance for children and families?
We care for adults and families, and the same plans and the same verification process apply to every member of the family. If your children are covered as dependents on your plan, bring the card and we will check their benefits too. Tell us when you book that you are bringing a child so we can plan the visit.
